Background
Liberty Properties Plc was selected following a competitive tender by Oswestry Town Council and Oswestry Cattle Market Company, to promote comprehensive redevelopment of 36 acre livestock market.
Requirement
The former Livestock Market required new, modern facility, to compete with new livestock markets in Shrewsbury and Welshpool.
Liberty prepared a comprehensive Masterplan, following public consultation.
Scheme Proposal
To provide:
- New 20 acre, rationalised livestock market
- 60,000 sq ft food store
- 40,000 sq ft non-food retail
- 5 screen multiplex cinema – pre-let to Cineworld
- 3 restaurants
- Business village
- New bus terminus
- New park and ride facility
Planning
Liberty Properties was responsible for coordinating the Masterplan application on behalf of Oswestry Cattle Market Company and application for commercial elements.
Liberty Properties is responsible for undertaking all political lobbying and coordinating all aspects of the planning application, including planning consultants, highway consultants, Environment Agency, geotech consultants, archaeological consultants and ecologists.
